Rake Structure
What sets poker apart from other gambling games is that the competition is player vs. player — not player vs. casino. While online casinos make their profits from slots and roulette using RNGs, how does a poker room earn money? The main source of income for the PokerMatch website is the rake. This is a fee taken from each hand dealt. Essentially, it’s a participation fee paid to the operator — and PokerMatch also offers rakeback. The rake amount depends on the number of players dealt into the hand (those who receive cards). Players sitting out are not counted. On average, the rake is about 5%. This page provides detailed rake information depending on the table type.
